Basic Ministry Care:
Results vs. Process &
Other Tools to Avoid Burnout

Pastor Bumble Ho
Session 1

Caring for others in ministry is hard, especially if “it is your job”. Fortunately there are many best practices and tools to help us survive and thrive for the long run such as “Results/Process”, “To Pray/Do List”, “The Mud Hole”, “Cure/Care”, “Team Care”, “Assertive Trial Run”, “Servanthood/Servitute”, etc. This session reviews the tools and points you to more in-depth resources to become an effective lay counselor/ministry care-giver.

The Lovable Law

Luan Dang
Session 1

Reading through Old Testament laws can be tedious or boring at best, and yet the Psalmist repeatedly states how he "delights" in God's law and commands as does Paul in Romans. How can someone possibly find delight in rules?? As we work through the implications, we begin to unravel a marvelous connection that brings us into a richer relationship with God. Learning to delight and love the law may be the key in invigorating your walk of faith, especially if Scripture has been dry and difficult for you.

Art of Reflection

Thay Nghia Tran
Session 1

Frederick Buechner said, “Listen to your life.” As we live in a world where everything is fighting for our attention and time, Christians need to be aware of the personal impacts of living in a digitally distracted world. Come join us as we learn the art of effective reflection to reclaim our mind and fight for our soul.

Two Lies and a Truth

Nora Lee
Session 1

Have you ever played two truths and a lie? Sometimes it can be difficult to know which are the lies and the truth. The world tells us so many lies that it can be difficult to hear God’s truth. Come and learn about some of the lies that you have believed and how the Gospel dispels those lies with the truth. “The truth will set you free….so if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” - John 8:32, 36

Building Community

Pastor Jimmy Nguyen
Session 1

God is in community and He has called us to build His Kingdom which is a community of God’s people. We will examine how God has put us in community through faith in Jesus and how we are to come to Him and learn how to be in community that can grow our faith and His Kingdom.

Marriage Forum: Love and Respect. Keys for a Healthy Marriage

Pastor Andrew Ong & Kally Ong

What does God’s Word teach about this topic? What are the key ingredients for a healthy marriage? We will focus on Ephesians 5:33, Love and Respect. We provide an open forum style workshop for people to talk and share concerns or questions about marriage.

Recommended Workshops for High School

Decision or Commitment - Spiritual Formation

Pastor David Pham
Session 1

You all remembered the moment you accepted Jesus into your heart.  Maybe it was at VBS, youth camp, or maybe your parents forced you (for good reasons of course 😅).  But at that moment did you make a decision or a commitment?  Is there even a difference between the two?  Sometimes our faith may be a blur to us, but the details are just as important.  If you ever questioned the reality of your personal relationship with Jesus this is the seminar for you.  Come and be challenged in your faith and perhaps experience a new sense of desire in Him.

Resting in God

Andrew Nguyen
Session 2

When we are physically tired we take it easy or sleep. When we wake up, we feel refreshed. Hopefully. What do we do if we are struggling with internal conflicts? When our emotions run untamed? When we feel spiritually distant from God? Jesus invites all of us to experience complete rest in Him. Come and see the sacred rhythm of rest God invites us into, how it could look in our daily lives, and discuss the challenges we will face.

Peacemaking Principles

Pastor Bumble Ho
Session 2

How do we respond to conflict biblically? Since 1982, Peacemaker Ministries has established a commitment to biblical conflict resolution to navigate the slippery slope between the natural flight or fight responses with the gospel-centered 4 G’s processes. Participants will also learn about the 7 A’s of confession, the 4 promises of forgiveness, the PAUSE principle of negotiating, and where to get additional resources for small groups and ministry.

Why Church Matters

Philip Thi
Session 2

Is church that building you drive to every week and ‘attend’, or the place you’ve ‘always been a part of since you were a kid’, or is it the community of believers brought together by Christ himself through His death and resurrection? The modern concept of church is a weekend activity or affiliation, but church is more than that, much more. We will discuss the purpose of church and your purpose in the church…and why it matters.

Art of Prayer

Elaine Tran
Session 2

Why should I pray? How do I pray? How do I keep up my prayer life? If you have any of these questions or faced challenges in prayer, this session will address them. Sometimes we have to go back to the basics and start small and somewhere to build a habit. We hope that through this session you will be excited to start praying with greater consistency and connection with God.

Christ in Me

Jason Nguyen
Session 2

In or out? This isn’t simply a question of whether you will have a shake with your double double later tonight. It is the implication of what Paul directs toward the believer when he writes: “Christ in you.” In this workshop, we will examine through the New Testament how our position in Christ relates to our identity in Him. Our identity determines not only how we act, what we think, but who we are at the very core of our being. Are you in or are you out?

Parenting Forum: 4 C's of Parenting.
Keys for Effective Parenting

Pastor Andrew Ong & Kally Ong
Session 2

What does God’s Word teach about parenting?  What are the key ingredients to be effective parents?  We will focus on Proverbs 22:6, Raising, Teaching, Training Children.  We provide an open forum style workshop for people to talk and share concerns or questions about parenting.

When you log-in to the Zoom call you are agreeing to the following: That all photos, videos, screen captures, and other representations of your likeness may be live streamed for public viewing and are owned by the event host and may be used as we desire for all future marketing and event purposes.

In-Person Workshops

“Does Anyone Really Know Me?”

Pastor Martin Johns

In a world of nearly 8 billion people by the end of November 2022, who really knows me? Though I have family, people from school and church, who knows what I like and don’t like? Who knows what I wish I come be and what my greatest fear is? And if people really knew these things about me, would they want to still be around me? In this seminar, we will look at how God’s word answers these important & personal questions.

Life Set Apart for God

Pastor Bang Nguyen

In the first letter, Peter addressed both Jewish and Gentile Christians who were experiencing violent persecution.  He encouraged them to persevere in their faith and to brace for future attacks.  He called them to an active faith that has the pursuit of holiness as its goal.  As we wait for Jesus' return, we ought to live a life that is set apart for God and we're to live holy lives.
