Mental Health Workshop for Parents

Understanding and Finding Resolution of Intergenerational Conflicts

Dr. Mijin Park, Q&A with Dr. Esther Park
California 1 & 2

It is undeniable that there will be conflict between parents and children. And amongst immigrant families, there’s an added complexity to these intergenerational struggles. Those who are growing up in the US have difficulty being understood. First generation parents have challenges in connecting with their third-cultured children. Why does this persist even though we come from Christian backgrounds? Is it possible to improve, even repair, these relationships? How does our relationship with Christ help resolve this unique conflict?
